Journey Church.
Mount Olive, Alabama
A church with a new name and an old website, rebuilt around the questions a first-time guest brings.
Journey's new site launches soon. The link below opens the preview.
- Website

What changed, in short
- 9pages, each one answering something a first-time guest wonders about
- 3gatherings and the address, all on the first screen
- 1 tapto plan a visit, from any page
The situation
Journey Church used to be Evangel Assembly of God, and its website never caught up. The last saved copy of evangelmtolive.com, from 2023, was a church website template with the template's own filler still in the footer: "This text will also be on the bottom of every page on your site."
Service times were there if you scrolled for them. There was nothing for someone thinking about a first visit, and the contact email was an old BellSouth address. Today that domain doesn't load at all, so a person who heard about Journey and went looking had nowhere to land.
What we did
The new site is built for the guest who is a little nervous about walking in.
- All three gatherings sit on the first screen with the address: Morning Devos at 9:45, the morning service at 10:30, and the midweek service on Wednesday at 6:30.
- A "What to expect" section answers the quiet questions before anyone has to ask. The service runs about 90 minutes. There's no dress code. The coffee is free. Kids have their own space.
- Plan Your Visit sits in the menu on every page.
- Next Steps walks from a first Sunday to baptism, serving on a team, and membership.
- Events, MO Kids, and JRNY Youth each have a home that the church can keep current.
Next up: a content shoot in the building, so the photos show Journey's own people, and a Google Business Profile built out to match.
What changed
The site launches soon. When it does, this is where Journey's own numbers will go.
